Vietnamese Coffee Creates Global Buzz: Record Export Value, Coffee Culture Attracts International Visitors

Vietnamese coffee is entering a golden era, combining high-quality raw materials with a unique coffee culture that captivates the world. Rising demand has helped the industry set new records in export value.

Within just two years, Vietnam’s coffee exports have seen remarkable growth. Previously, annual export turnover hovered around USD 3 billion, but:

  • In 2024, the coffee industry earned over USD 5 billion
  • In 2025, forecasts suggest it could reach USD 9 billion — the highest in history

This growth highlights the increasing global appeal of Vietnamese coffee.

Vietnamese Coffee Prices Remain High and Stable

One factor fueling the global “coffee fever” is Vietnam’s ability to maintain stable, high prices despite market volatility.

On the London exchange, Robusta prices fluctuated sharply between USD 3,200 – 5,800/ton since the beginning of the year. However, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment:

  • Average export price (including processed coffee) in the first 10 months of 2025 reached USD 5,653/ton
  • Up 42% compared with the same period in 2024
  • Vietnam exported over 1.3 million tons, earning USD 7.41 billion
  • Volume rose 13.5%, but value surged 61.8%

This demonstrates that Vietnamese coffee continues to hold strong appeal, with major markets willing to pay premium prices.

Processed Coffee Accelerates, Outpacing Overall Industry Growth

According to the Import–Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam’s coffee exports to the EU and US remained stable in the first 10 months of 2025, reinforcing Vietnam’s position among the world’s top exporters.

Processed coffee stood out significantly:

  • By August 2025, export turnover reached USD 1.18 billion
  • Up 63.5% year-on-year
  • Far exceeding the overall industry growth rate

This marks an important step forward, enhancing added value and reducing reliance on raw coffee exports.

Coffee Industry Faces New Challenges

Despite achievements, the coffee sector must meet growing demands for sustainable development. The Import–Export Department emphasized:
“To maintain competitive advantage, Vietnam’s coffee industry needs to continue improving processing capacity, standardizing quality, and building a national brand.”

Investment in technology, brand development, and product standardization will be key for Vietnamese coffee to sustain breakthroughs in the global market.
