Promoting investment cooperation between the Southern Economic Hub region (Vietnam) and Shandong Province (China)

From November 5 to 9, 2025, a market survey delegation organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry — Ho Chi Minh City branch (VCCI-HCM) conducted a productive visit and working trip to Shandong Province, China.

Strengthening cooperation and opening new opportunities

The trip not only reinforced cooperative ties between businesses of the two countries but also opened many new investment and trade opportunities for Vietnam’s Southern Economic Hub region — including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Lam Dong — with the highly promising Shandong market.

Vietnamese business delegation seeks investment cooperation opportunities in Shandong

The delegation included Vietnamese companies active in multiple sectors such as logistics, technical trade, construction, education, and high-tech agriculture.
The firms held a number of in-depth meetings with Shandong partners, focusing on exchanging experience, connecting supply sources, and seeking strategic partners.

Objectives: strengthen trade and investment links in Shandong’s key industries

The trip aimed to deepen trade–investment linkages, especially in Shandong’s strong sectors such as:

  • power equipment (transformers, high- and low-voltage switchgear)
  • aluminum alloy cast products
  • wire and cable manufacturing
  • high-tech agriculture
  • processed seafood

Business-to-business connections — expanding practical cooperation

The delegation held direct meetings with:

  • CITS Huamau International Logistics Company
  • Ding Shi Thanh Dao International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd.
  • Nieu Phi Duc Thanh Dao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
These sessions revealed diverse, highly complementary cooperation needs between Vietnamese and Chinese firms, particularly in logistics, energy, and import–export trade.

Complementarity in economic structure — foundation for sustainable cooperation

  1. Industry and technology

Shandong has advanced manufacturing, power-equipment production, chemicals, and maritime logistics systems, while Vietnam — especially the southern region — has strong demand for modern technology, inputs, and equipment to upgrade production capacity and develop infrastructure.

  1. Market and trade

Vietnam serves as a strategic gateway to the ASEAN market, whereas Shandong seeks to expand export markets, diversify supply chains, and is particularly interested in Vietnam’s high-quality agricultural and seafood products.

Promoting bilateral cooperation — toward resilient supply chains

Given their complementary economic structures, the two sides can accelerate investment in production, develop bilateral supply chains, boost trade, and transfer modern technologies.
Through the connecting roles of VCCI and CCPIT, the cooperation potential between Vietnam’s Southern Economic Hub and Shandong Province (China) can be further and effectively exploited, contributing positively to Vietnam–China economic and trade relations in the new phase.
